i wouldn't worry about it having driven 5/6/7 on same roads back to back the Mk7 GTI was the more planted with better feedback and quicker despite less power
edition 30 owners are feeling smug but not everyone want to drive a car that is 6-7 years old
in reality has anyone how has come from a 5, 6 or Rocco said that it was the better car
keep the faith
Think most would see it as a positive in that Tiff was driving it pretty rapidly and probably well beyond limits any of us would come close to on the road and he still could not get it out of shape.
That is reason I have the Quattro and have gone for the GTD as that is what I am seeking so Tiff review gave me even more assurance than already had.
There is a Youtube review somewhere of an ST against a GTI on a track and the ST is all over the place and ended up being slower around the track. Sliding might be 'fun' on a track but on a road it is last thing you want.
Chris Harris review is most balanced seen based on road driving.
I like Tiff for what he can do to a car, it is fun to see a car taken to it's limit on a track and I agree for that purpose all driving aids should be selectable to be switched off, even if there is an on screen disclaimer when doing so but I would never take his view on a car for the road as that is not where his passion lies
