Bluetooth Audio iPhone 5
« on: 03 November 2013, 09:18 »
I can't work out why my iPhone 5 won't play audio through the composition media system.

I've followed the instructions in the manual but it simply won't see, or play any of the music (Phone is paired with the system for calls and all contacts work fine)

Anybody else having trouble with the iPhone 5 and BT Audio?

Thx

5-0, when you go into the bluetooth advance settings, and looks up the profiles under the paired phones, it should have an a couple of profiles next to your phone. One will be "HFP" (which is the phone part) and one should be "A2VDP" (or some acronym like that). Check to make sure you have the second one activated, as if it isn't, you won't be able to stream music over bluetooth.

Worth a check ?

Yes I had A2VDP checked  but still not much joy.

The only way I've managed to get music to play with BT Audio is to go into the music player on the iPhone 5 and hit play. However the only thing you can control via the media system itself is pause. It will not skip forward or backward, it won't let you select other artists. It's bobbins.

Can somebody else check - just in case it's me being thick

I didn't do anything to mine to make BT Audio work, it just did.

However, I cannot go back a track, only forwards and there is no track listing.  Overall it is not brilliant.
