How come you get a build week from your dealer (BW50) and just 2 weeks after I check the tracker this morning I have a confirmed build date of 24.11.13 week 48....am not complaining :smug:

Have VW pulled in more staff to try and play catch up with the backload of orders afore Xmas or is the Gti's being built quicker than the Gtd's???

Strange.....

It works in two stages, the dealer usually gets an unconfirmed BW first which was probably your BW50, then the factory does better scheduling and you get a confirmed build week.

It took one month for my build week to be confirmed from when I placed the order. Mine was originally unconfirmed BW42 but then a week later is slipped to BW46, got confirmed in BW46 3 weeks later.

That is a very hard question... they car takes about 30 hours to build over around 2-4 days.
With no delays it should take 4-6 weeks to reach your dealership.

Hi,

I have just had my build week confirmed for week48 (24/11/13) as well and I only ordered on 22/10/13.  The lead time seems amazingly fast considering I didnt plan on getting the car until June / July!

Just had email from dealer - On checking your GTI order yes it has a build week of 48 and it's actually got a production confirmed status for that week. I would expect your GTI to arrive here at the dealer the week beginning 16th Dec allowing for shipping etc..... :smug: :whistle:
I only ordered it on the 10th October...... :whistle:
Cant grumble about that eh chaps!!!!!

This is good news if its true.... my BW46 is scheduled for Dec delivery.

I'm the same hastd2, was 50, just looked at the tracked and build week confirmed as 24.11.13 BW 48

It might be a Christmas'ish' present after all
