Badges/Decals

Hi All.

Sorry to bring an element of doom and gloom to the forum.

Has anybody given thought to the theft of the desirable badges/decals on both GTI and GTD. Of the the last ten cars I have owned, four had the above nicked, two doing damage to the bodywork.

One is torn between leaving them on for image purposes, and removing them to prevent potential damage.
Any thoughts?

I ordered with the badges, but I intend to take them off as soon as I can do so. (I just like having them in there with the service history  :cool:)

Used to run a G40 and between a couple of us those badges kept going missing  :sad:

Do people still nick badges off cars? I thought that was an 80's thing  :grin:

Wouldn't want to tempt them, they may not be able to resist the urge to go retro ;)

If you are worried about getting the badges nicked off your GTI/GTD, you should be more worried if the car was still there that they were attached to!  :grin:

If they are going to steal your VW badges, they may just take your car instead! Leave the badges on your car, it will look really silly without them  :wink:

I can see the wing badges being popular for MK6 GTDs, but are they old enough and cheap enough yet to be in the hands of thieving scumbags?
