so, I put a male spade connector through the back of that block, the only thing is I have a piece of colored plastic in the way, It seems as though my gti didn't come with fogs so I was thinking will the mean that ill have to put a relay in place?

yeah there is a plastic ferrule in there to seal the connector.
forgot about that

no relay needed, the ones with factory fitted fogs didn't have any either.... all done in the light switch (quite possible there are some in there, be it micro relays or transistors)

All seems like a lot of faffing around to save £15 and 10 minutes installing the proper foglight equipped headlight loom. :undecided:

why change the whole loom? if you have it yes but why buy one if all you need is one wire from the connector that you can easily retrofit.

it took me under 15 minutes to do the wiring, all you need from main loom is one wire, GND is easy to wire to battery.
