what sort of journeys do everyone do to what they pull out of they're cans??

I do 1.5 mile trip twice a day and I rarely have to empty mine

I think the placement of the catch can also affects how effective a trap it is. Mine is towards the front of the engine bay in the path of airflow so it's relatively colder.

mine is bolted with a home made bracket to the metal bracket which holds the dipstick and n249 valves on later 1.8t`s.
I have ordered a bung for the TIP connection and a breather filter for the outlet of the can so nothing goes back through the inlet.
perhaps that will help.

I went with the toyosports one in the end well an ebay jobby but its identical it will do for a temp fix maybe permanent if its good. On a side note rio what have you sprayed your rocker cover with and do you have a build thread with more pictures ?

exactly where mine is bolted ,i made it sit up a bit so it doesn't touch the rad fan or any pipes going to/from the rad ,i mainly do short journeys i check it once a month

I also use an eBay special catch can mounted at the front but I vent it to atmosphere

@rockmonkey69 what size are the outlets on the can? Did you get custom 19mm ones made up or do you have a reducer?

No reducer just adapters, I can't remember what thread the catch can has off the top of my head but I think it was 3/8

Where did you get the adaptors from?

Any hydraulics shops will stock adapters, I can't remember whether it was Pirtek or Phoenix hoses, my engine bay is quite old, this setup was only supposed to be a temporary bodge until I had time to come up with a more permenant solution.
