oil catch can shopping list required
« on: 29 October 2013, 18:13 »
So as always when you go to modify your car you end up finding something that needs fixing!!! So the stupid lower crank case breather hose was split ... well split is an understatement it was hanging on by about 3mm of rubber nice ey !

so I dont want to replace It im going to fit a catch can now I can get my head round doing it but I cant figure out what I need lol I really dont want to spend more than £50 to be honest.

can someone give me a shopping list of what I will need. Ebay catch cans any good ?

ive got an ebay catch can and its crap tbh, I don't think its caught a teaspoonful of oil since it has been fitted. I`m going to fill it with SS wire mesh, see if that helps and also isolate it from the TIP.
you`re going to need 19mm hose (oil resistant) a tee piece and maybe one or two more plugs ect., not sure on size.
most of us have very slightly different catch can setups but the pipework is mostly the same.
the best thing for you do is, buy your catch can of choice first. then work out what size reducers, tee`s, plugs and other fittings you are going to need.

How odd, I use a toyosport oil catch can and it catches oil vapour just fine, I've had to empty it out countless times since I've bought it. It works wonders looking at the crap that it's prevented from going back to the engine.

i really can`t understand how mine is set up incorrectly, one port goes to the hockey puck entry of the tip, and the other goes to the top and bottom end breathers which are connected via a Tee piece??
correct me if I`m wrong of course.
