i dont know if my clutch is going??
« on: 23 October 2013, 19:57 »
hello fellas I think my clutch is on its way out ie its slipping.

now I have done the stand still put it into fourth gear and raise the clutch pedel and the car would stall....

but when driving 1st,2nd,3rd its fine I think but say im on an up hill and I put my foot down in 4th,5th or 6th as soon as it starts to boost full psi (20-22 psi) the revs go up really quickly and the car only get a little bit more speed I notice it more in 6th.... this has only stared to happen since I got my turbo back 2.5 inch exhaust.

so do I need a new clutch or uprated clutch as the car has noticeably more power since the turbo back??

Almost definitely your clutch. That's when mine started to slip, pulling in the higher gears up hill.

If it's a petrol it's well worth going for the popular g60 flywheel/vr6 clutch conversion. They're a lot cheaper and better than standard dual mass flywheel, 2lb lighter too so faster acceleration

He can't get the G60/VR6 combo he's got a 6 speed box. It's only good for the 5 speed.

Ahh unlucky! Still worth going uprated looking at the mods already done + turbo back exhaust.

There was a thread the other week about it but off the top of my head I'm not sure. I think that ECS do a up rated one.

That'll be the one I meant I would imagine it'll be ECS kit. You obviously can get a SMF but the g60 combo is a different diameter
