The red calipers are part of the sight and sound package.  If the sights and sound package is going to be offered here then that will be the only way to get the red calipers.

Performance Pack gets Red GTi badges to front and rear
As a Golf GTI enthusiast for 30+ years I find this quite a sad time. The GTI badge on a golf was always silver. On a peugeot GTi or SEAT GTI it was in red, but the real GTI it was always silver.
Its like the peugeot GTi's of the 80s had red door panel trim strips and red carpets. The real GTI didnt have to do that.
Sorry to go off topic

I'm with snoopy here. The silver GTI badges look classy, but the red GTI badges look like Halfords parts bin specials IMHO of course

You guys have a good point, I think the RB styling ones are better as they have chrome edging still, scroll down for the rear of the car as it's got the red on there...

Having had a think about it (after my initial 'car has only been out a few months and all ready they're changing it grrr' reaction), I'm also with Snoopy.  It should be silver as that's what it's always been.  I'm happy that my PP can be only clocked by the GTI callipers.  I'm sure the badges will still look good in red but I'm happy with my silver ones

Totally agree with you guys on this - I think the red badges are a step too far and I'm glad I've got the silver ones

Very minor changes to the GTI Mark thank god. Now, if they had suddenly turned round and said something along the lines of increasing the bhp through the PP then i would have been seriously pissed off

With the Mk 6 I'd had it a couple of months then they changed all of the rear lights, I was livid as it totally changed the look of the back of the car - so yes, minor changes are most welcome!!

Changes will always happen, minor or major even more when its a new model on a new platform, its just one of those things, if you want to be the first with something then this is something you have to bear in mind. Only if they sack the research and development team, but if they did that we would not have the MK7
From a Pulsar GTIR, MK4 Golf 1.8t, BMW 1series, BMW 330, Merc C280, A3 TDi, A4 2.0t Quattro...on order Mk7 T/Red GTD nav/pan roof/dynoaudio and ABT headlight brow BW44!

I'm also with you. I think it looks cheaper, on the photos at least. I observed that the red badges are surrounded by silver. So, fingers crossed it looks nice on pure white (I'm on BW46). Red badging isn't unknown to VW, though. In Europe, the 6-speed mk4 (the one with the 180HP motor version -there were 2 states of tune post-facelift) had its "I" in red.

170 TDI Scirocco has a red "I" too to distinguish it from the 140TDI, both badged "2.0 TDI". Used plenty of times now and in the past, mainly to distinguish different output versions of the same engine unit. This badging implies greater potency over the current GTI to those familiar with the system.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....
