mk3 golf engine swap

Hello all,

I currently have a mk3 golf 1.8 ADZ block, but i have been offered a 2.0 DOHC block (unsure on the engine code) but im just wondering what else do i need from the donor vehicle ??

any help is appreciated

well you would need all the engine wiring ECU keys key reader engine mounts exhaust maybe some interior wiring if clocks are different are you breaking donor car before transplant?

thanks mate, i was gonna grab the ecu, engine loom and mounts, i bought most of the exhaust yesterday to put onto my 1.8 but will grab downpipe with the block. will the mounts be a straight fit ?

unfortunately i am not breaking the car myself, so want to grab whatever i need whilst i can, before the shell becomes a cube :/

if you want to be safe maybe even front sub-frames from engine drive shafts hubs ect... then you know you have everything

As yours is a cabrio and 4 stud wheels you will need to look at uprating the brakes as well.

if you get all the hubs and everything like that you could do and easy brake upgrade change rear hubs to do 5 stud conversion.

Well im getting the rear beam, so may aswell get the hubs, the guy has said I can have anything I want from the bay, and I guess the front hubs are under the bay so wont need to pass anymore money, think I may do that, however ill need new wheels too, anyone want some castellets ....

i have some black gti wheels for sale want £60 with tyres. missing centre caps but cheap price also set of vento wheels with toyo proxes on them want 150 as Tyres nearly new both 5 stud
