Knowing that, no matter how good I drive, it is still going to happen one day, has anyone tried these to stop the damage to the rims?

They get good reviews but to me you're just encouraging a grit build up which can scratch your alloys around the rim.
Also, I suspect unless you go for black they'll look really cheap when fitted.
You're better off with Alloy Wheel insurance.

You are the one in control of the steering wheel, so you can make sure it doesn't happen,

I've heard bad things about them, they are hard to fit and pop out easily.
The fact that I haven't seen a single car on the road with them on speaks for itself.

I have just emailed this company to see what options that have for my wheels as the tyre does not sit with the rim.
The lady on the phone was very unhelpful and just gave me a email address instead of helping me with my query i see you have to get them fitted not a diy solution.
