It sounds like it is the resonated system which has a part number MSVW353, 3" res is similar noise levels to 2.75 non res, the non res 3" is too loud imho

I think it is the 3" res system. Bit worried now as I've heard the miltek for the gti is quite refined, which is why I was after the non res. is it much difference between 2.75 and 3"??

I think the clue is in the name 3" Race system, my race tbe system I've just taken was slightly louder than th 2.75 non res I ran on my Rocco, also allows you to full exploit Stage 2 code

A mate of mine had a 3" non res cat back on his a Rocco R and was not my cup of tea

Don't quote me on this but I've been looking into these two exhausts and from what I've read is:

The 2.75" system old one sounds great non res and also res if your looking for a quiter standard like system.

The 3" is newer more stealth like fit BUT the non res is too quite this system is best coupled with a downpipe creating the sound and the res keep it from not sounding ridiculous. The 3" non res with no downpipe i don't know I can't find any reviews.

The only review I can find regarding this exhaust refers to the 3" full race system no one has it fitted just catback.

I'd love someone who has the latter fitted to give more info and I'd also like to point out I don't have either fitted and am merely divulging info from the internet.

I'm in the same boat and want a good sounding system but only want to go stage 1 thus in my mind I'm settled on 2.75" non res unless I'm swayed otherwise!

I have the 3" Race with Res and No Downpipe (as of now) Sound is pretty decent, about 15% over stock but is much deeper. Not much happens in low revs, just a nice deep grumble but once you it 4k-7k it comes alive, but it not the sound of a non res - its more deeper and powerful sounding if you no what i mean, its not wharpy and ricey.

Well in that case it sounds exactly what I'm after. Cheers

With reference to a non res 3" system the comments some it up in these two quotes, the Rocco R systems are 3" and share components, so no a non res is not too quiet and needs a down pipe, having experienced the non res cat back the small silencers were an essential tick in the box

A mate of mine had a 3" non res cat back on his a Rocco R and was not my cup of tea

Interestingly Milltek only list the 3" system for the 35 but the 2.75 will work fine

+ 1 sounds like what I'm after too, until now never knew of any who had the 3" res fitted. Maybe I need to keep my options open again.

Richie seems you got a great deal then on this from VWR. These are priced around £850 usually!!
