BW46 - 10.11.13
« on: 21 October 2013, 13:59 »
Hi all,

new here, thought I would kick off a build week 46 thread - 10.11.13 (get new revised BW45 spec)
Having read posts about long waiting timesand problems, I have to say that so far my buying experiance and delivery expectations have not dissapointed me.
The dealer told me to expect my car either Dec/Jan when I placed the order and so far it looks to be the case (or have I missed something?)

Ordered mine on Sept 14th
Got a confirmed build week of 46 - 10.11.13
Expecting delivery in December

Anybody think that december delivery is not likely/possible?

Here is my specification:-

Golf GTi 3dr 6-speed manual
Tartan interior
Pure White
Performance Pack
19" Santiago alloys
Winter Pack
DynAudio Sound Pack
Keyless Entry
ACC (DCC) Adaptive Chasis
Advanced Phone Kit
Climate Windscreen
High-beam Assist
Parking Assist
Rear-view Camera
AutoGylm LifeShine
Service Plan 3yrs/30k miles
3 Year GAP RTI
4 Year Warranty

I am soooooooooo excited.  got a nice discount too.....

2013GTi I have the same build week as you, I was scheduled for week 44 but it got pushed back.

I have been told it should be here for Christmas, we'll see.

Fingers crossed... looking at the Volkswagen tracker site it states the following:-

Car takes 30 hours 2-4 days to build
Then once built takes 4 weeks to arrive at the dealership.

This would mean that if there are no delays and if the worst case build slot falls on 17/10 (still BW46) + 4 days.. it would mean the car could be shipped to the UK in time for mid december?

or maybe will get delayed by 3 months

I ordered 4 days later than you 2013GTi, but have only been given an unconfirmed BW50, 4 weeks later than yours. I've got a much slimmer spec list too. Very odd. Wonder if some VW dealerships have a preferential relationship with the German factory perhaps?

I think it might be down to the factory probably producing cars in batches based on colours maybe?
I will be really chuffed if it turns up in december though and it will be a nice addition to my other Golf

My unconfirmed BW was also 46, so I would say your might stick at BW50.

My Polo Bluemotion is going to a new home and will be missed  roll on GTi.

Hi all I'm BW 46 too, ordered 3rd October, but will probably wait till March 1st for delivery *must control temptation*

To those who ordered at same time or before, did you order DSG? The manuals seem to be getting made faster for some reason but trying to find logic in VW is something of an inexact science.

Could someone do a quick roundup of the "new spec" post BW 45. I thought it was just the iphone connecter!

If mine arrived early feb I would have waited for March 1st (14) but I'm putting my own plate on it and rather have it this year. :)

There are very minor differences from BW45 onwards.
iPhone5 cable and a sound thingy for the GTD, there is another tread with more info.

However I am hope Volkswagen have installed the new updated USB/iPod connection as cars specified with Advanced Phone Kit lose MDI/iPod connections :(

Spoken to two separate people from VW looking into my order, both said BW 46 should expect it just before Xmas, but of course quick to remind me how tentative this estimation is.

If a car's manufacture date is 2013 it's okay for it to be registered as 2014 by the DVLA if you choose not to register it until the new year?

Yes, because they record the date of first registration...

My point being will the 2013 manufacture date negatively affect resale value despite 2014 registration? (will 2013 have to be listed in any future sale?)

Apologies if the answer to this is very obvious
