Even my REVO'd mk6 used to struggle for traction at stage 1 and I actually found the detuned 95RON program REVO supplied was more user friendly.
I've since driven a Bluefin mk6 and it was a lot more tractable despite being a bit down on power compared to the REVO. Much less wheelspin issues, no axle tramp etc. so probably covered ground faster.
Once you go past stage 1 then the balance tips the wrong way and you end up losing what you bought the GTI for in the first place unless you plan serious chassis mods.
I dread to think what a Stage 2+ ED30 or 35 is like to drive on standard brakes and suspension at full chat!
