Help help help

When i was driving home the other day my mk3 gti just started to die on me! so i pulled over to see that the ht lead that runs from the dizzy cap to the ignition coil had burnt away on the end that plugs onto the ignition coil ( the ignition coil plastic end was pretty burnt to) anyway ive put a new ignition coil on, new ht lead, new plugs, and now every time i turn it over it shoots up to 2500 revs then dies again straight away , Help does anyone know wots  going on

sounds like a vacumm leak but is more likely that the ecu has blown
