Thanks for looking in. I have been reading through some of the threads for a while so I thought it was time to join up! I was the proud owner of an 1989 8v GTI some years ago, and have recently moved to Northern Ireland where I was made an offer I could not refuse on a 1990 8v, so here she is. Planning to do work on her as time (and money!) permits, but fortunately she is mechanically sound and only has minor cosmetic rust in the usual places so I can still enjoy her in the meantime...
