Reabuilding ABF 2.0 16v engine where to buy parts what is best option

Right i have a spare engine fully working order removed from my other GTI had 120k on the clock run sweet as a nut but as its a spare engine i would like to rebuild it fully.My options are rebuild it back to standard or bore it out and have lots of work done depending on what advice i can get on here and how hard is it to source parks for these cars like racing bearings forged internals stuff like that i have an in house engine re-builder at work will all the tools so just need parts what can any 1 suggest.

I have a misses and little girl so need something reliable but when im alone power im not looking for 300 bhp or something silly like that if there is a reasonable priced option for and extra 10 - 30 bhp i will be happy.

Any suggestions??

You'll struggle to get much extra power from an ABF without spending a fortune or going down the forced induction route.

Ess_Three spent a huge amount of time/money trying to get his ABF to 200bhp

Use the money and stick a 1.8t in the car instead.

i would love to do the 1.8t conversion but it the time spent with car off the road and my luck with turbo cars is bad had 5 engines in my s13 200sx 1.8 turbo only had car a year 6 month spent off the road so no turbos for me but supercharger sounds more reliable maybe just a standard rebuild with few lightened parts gas flowed head seem a reasonable option for me.

Well you aint gonna get any decent power unless you spend at least £3500

I know a I have just spent £1100 on rods and pistons!

Supercharge a 1.8 20v turbo engine?

then i gotta buy 1.8t engine hope its good all the wiring and ecu my brother is fitting 3.2 supercharges in a 190e and taking him forever and costing a bomb i don't want that sort of trouble,  now uprated pistons and rods high lift cams and some half decent bearings is my sorta idea just want to know a good place manufacturer and what sort of combinations to get some good power.

I would have the spare engine rebuilt with new bearings, gaskets and oil pump as required plus whilst it is apart have the cylinder head gas flowed plus the manifolds matched.

It will not gain big bhp but will all help.

Yeh thats what im likely to do atm i have inlet ported and head ported all matching and makes a difference so smooth when you put power down.
