Smoke from exhaust
« on: 10 October 2013, 12:59 »
Hi Guys,

Just wanted a bit of advice, my car has rarely been driven the last 2 months or so maybe once per weekend max.
Now it had a big journey Sunday and has been sat on my drive since, the big journey my friend drove it back around 130 miles and I was behind him practically the whole way nothing wrong at all.

Came to go out in it last night and noticed that the car wasn't boosting to 1.5 bar like it normally does it was going between 1-1.25 max and seemed to be stuttering between the two, so turned around and headed home.

started the car up this morning and noticed that there was white/blue smoke. I checked the oil and noticed it was a little low but didn't want to drive it anywhere to see if it would clear.

Any ideas? I was thinking maybe because its mostly been stood but the smoke did smell a little like burning oil when I checked it

I suspect with it being stood that some oil drained down to the bores, a good run should sort it.

I checked for boost leaks, nothing obvious.
Also scanned it and no fault codes, I'll have another look tomorrow and take it for a drive to see about the smoke and report back, cheers guys

started her up last night and let it idle for 5 minutes, no blue smoke
Hopefully it was just a build up as Wayne mentioned
