So my new GTD car arrived and here's what I make of it after 1 week..............
5 door, solid black, manual, keyless & adaptive chassis control (everything else standard)
Drive is superb, you will certainly feel like you are driving an expensive great looking mean car, enthusiasts will know its a MK7, and so far its turning lots of heads!!
I personally think solid black looks fantastic and have no regrets ordering that, but just like white will need lots of cleaning, especially this time of year, I can see why tornado red will be popular.
I've only driven in Sport mode so cannot compare with Normal or Comfort and as others stated you probably won't feel much difference.
Steering is solid and so is the steering wheel, and the car grips really well round bends/roundabouts, some traction issues on dodgy surfaces but this is expected on most cars.
I should probably add here the standard 18" Nogaro Alloys are awesome, best standards I've seen on a Golf for a long time.
Acceleration is 'nicely' punchy in 1st and 2nd gear, limited to the diesel revs of course so no over taking in these gears

, 3rd gear kicks in really nicely if you are at the right speed but don't expect drag racing stats! Great for quick overtaking on these poor English B roads mind, in 3rd gear of course!
Interior of the car is typical VW with the dash and finish, so much better than the plastically and recently compared 2013 Seat FR, no comparison there!
Radio FM/DAB & Bluetooth was no hassle at all and is self explanatory without the need of the manual, works well.
Exterior DRL lights look great, automatic light setting is sensitive so if you drive on a road with surrounding trees during a light day expect the beams to come on.
Windscreen wipers seem to shudder at the top of the screen when on whilst driving as though they are sticky, they are fine when stationary so might be a speed thing, but this seems to be improving the more I drive.
MPG is difficult to measure because as soon as I could my foot was on the floor, but as an example a full tank from empty at a cost of £58 (small tank obviously) and around 10 miles of slow then quick driving acceleration I used a third of the tank! So although stats show it should be economic, having fun with the car will drink the tank quickly.
Now the boring bit.. boot size is decent but compared to my GT TSI is very slightly smaller due to the wheel arches, but only very slightly, still fits a standard child buggy (if you care

).
Annoying point now..... ACC is known as Adaptive Cruise Control and Adaptive Chassis Control which in the manual is also referred to as DCC, and so if you accidentally press Cruise Control on the steering wheel you may see ACC is disabled pop up, but this is cruise not adaptive, I think that's right as the 'mode' control is still in sport

All in all and like everyone has stated, this car is definitely worth the wait
Pictures of black GTD for those who don't know are on 'new arrivals' page 8 but soon as I get the wife to clean mine will post some myself too!
