Build time
« on: 06 October 2013, 22:39 »
Was in by the local dealer on Friday and got a test drive of the Gti, was well impressed and even the wife was pleased with herself in mastering the electric handbrake
Now just out of interest the dealer said if I ordered a new 5 door Gti in pure white am looking at 5-6 months
Can I wait that long or do I look for a 13plate??? :undecided:

What do I do???

Regards
Doug

IMHO there will be very few 13 plates around as not many were delivered before 1st September. You might get an ex-demo but it may not have the front radar and will therefore be more expensive to insure. Also, ex-demos will probably have been thrashed - I know I thrashed the one I had for an hour so. Even if you do find one, you'll most likely be paying full price or close to it. Bite the bullet, order a new one to your exact spec.

Oh, and it should be Carbon Steel Grey, not White
Arrived: GTI, DSG, 5 Door, Carbon Steel Grey, Service Plan, Winter Pack, Side Airbag, DCC (or ACC - the Adaptive Chassis thing, ok?), Park Assist, Rear View Camera

It's easy to say because I have mine but if I knew the wait was 5-6 months I wouldn't be prepared to wait that long. If you can find a low mileage demo with the sort of spec you would be after then that's what I would be going for.

Ps not all demo cars are thrashed to within an inch of their lives and go white or go home

No didn't try them pal. I think I was one of the quickest for delivery, about 12 weeks but may have just been lucky

Wow that's quick eh!!....Aberdeen seem a bit pushy just now on tryn to sell a new one. When I said about a used one they looked at me if I had 2 heads, and by the the way you won't get one!!
Am tempted to try Gti World, as they seem to be on the ball and are expecting a few Mk7 Gti's mid November so see what happens.
Also I heard today from Gti World and Cameron's of Perth that VW are increasing the retail price on the Gti's by 1%....on the 1st November
So do I bite the bullet and go for a new one and take the hit and wait 5 month or hang on and see what pops up!!!! :undecided:
