I'm sorry if this has already been covered.
My GTI came with a black screw in the cubby hole behind the handbrake switch, can anyone tell me what this is for and what I am supposed to do with it?

I've done that so many times. To the OP I would hang on to it and then whenever a part falls off you will know what the screw was meant for
