The last Slinky EVER
« on: 06 October 2013, 06:46 »
Just got back to my hotel room after the very last Slinky. Had an amazing night and really sad that it's no longer financially viable.

I'm probably hanging up my dancing shoes now as nights out are getting further and further away from home and I'm starting to feel the affects for longer and longer each time.

Goodnight Slinky, it's been emotional

Why's it shutting down?

I'm just waiting for a plane back to Stanstead. Coming from Poland. Fecking awesome stag, a full on burger dinner for 6, LOADS of pints and a bottle of vodka plus some shots then a kebab each to finish. Woke up next day found out we'd spend 500 zlotty, about 120 quid!

Anyone wanting a lads holiday, go. Went out last night and some of the clubs are awesome.  Everywhere I turned there was a fitten and they all loved the British. I need to become single and go back.

Where all my moneys went.

I'm still recovering from seeing Armin Van Buuren at the warehouse project on Friday, took me most of last week to recover from Axwell last Friday. Two pretty amazing nights though.

The Opera House itself was sold to O2 in 2010 by the owners of Slinky with the intention of wrapping up but Lee Haslam wanted to keep it going so he stepped in. O2 were charging something like £4k a time to use the venue and were also taking the bar profits while Slinky were using the venue so they were running at a loss.

It won't be the last big name club to shut unfortunately
