I've been looking for the same thing, I think I upgraded my mobo to DDR2 about 3/4 years ago and now want to up the RAM, but the price for DDR2 is crazy and surprise surprise I've got spare DDR3, DDR, SDRAM sticks laying about from working on peoples PC's but no DDR2 and I'm refusing to upgrade as spec wise I'm happy with my P4 and PCI-E mobo running a GT520, just the ram is what I could really do with!

Unless I can get a new DDR3 mobo that supports the 478 socket

I upgraded my P4 to 64bit extreme dam thing was about £1000K got it off ebay for £60.00 its the only thing that makes it worth while to keep the Chipset, only other option is Dual core off an old Ausus mobo but even the latency sucks on Dual cores with DDR3 better off with I7 i5 quad which better utilises the DDR3 mem access.

Got all the parts delivered on Weds, put them all together and... nothing.

Bit of head scratching later and I realise they've sent the wrong mobo out to me, it only accepts AM3+ processors and mine is AM2/AM3

Soooo now this one has to go back and I'm waiting for the one I actually ordered to arrive. In the meantime I've been looking at quad core processors

I have no preference with processors TBH, I'm only going with AMD as that's what originally came with the setup.

Just won a quad core processor for £25 lol
