Well I was meant to pick up the Mk2 yesterday but got a message saying the car was not starting as the alternator was gone and needs to be changed

Not a big deal tbh, this will be the first of many £50 notes you throw at it
Dont let this put you off as the satisfaction of owning one take most of the edge off the wallet pain, and finding the right parts and storing them gets obsesive....
I've got a brand new KR fuel pump, dash clocks/stalks and Kjet system I'm hanging onto as part of my pension plan

I would describe the bodywork as 80%. There is a receipt for the car in 03 which says 'engine work carried out to customers specification' This was for about £1600. However the current owner does not know exactly what has been carried out from the previous owner who paid to have this done. He thinks it has been polished and ported with cams etc and new valves

I wish I could but will need to sell the Mk3 to fund the Mk2. Had no interest in my Mk3. Perhaps the price of £1600 is too high hey

What I always say and would always take a Mk3 over any Mk2 including a Rallye!

2. Air-con

Like they really are important both go wrong and cost money to sort, we lived without them years ago so I cannot see it matters.

You can get mk2's with A/C albeit not particularly often.

would you have a mk3 over a tvr then?

Buy very good tyres and pay attention to the road and you wont need abs.
Air con? We only have 1 hot month out of the 12.
