As I've said in the new arrivals section. I picked my GTD up on Wednesday and then went on a weekend jaunt with the lads to Welshpool which is an approximate 150 mile round trip from birmingham.
Firstly maybe it was a bad idea cleaning it before I set out as the country roads have left the DPB paint covered in a film of dirt/dust.
More on that later. So i filled up 30 quid shell diesel (nothing else will suffice) and entered the destination in to the Nav and off I set up the M6 with 3 other adults and a boot full of stuff. Initial thoughts, easy to use Nav, and easy to set ACC which is a revelation in moving traffic at 40-50mph. I must add that I used it with some apprehension. Can you really rely on a computer to brake for you on a motorway. Turns out you can with serious ease.
The drive up there was comfortable especially the leather seats and lumbar support. This was a comment made by my mate in the passenger seat it was seriously smooth. Traffic meant the Nav took us off the m54 and on to some a/b roads. Very happy with the manner and speed at which it changed the route. The steering wheel has all the controls that you would need don't need to take your hands off it to do anything.
Back to the drive, was getting a few looks but I'm guessing that's something I will have to come to terms with

. As night fell and the broads got darker, the xenons and cornering lights were the thing that did it for me. Slight turn of the wheel and the whole corner is out up. Visibility was amazing.
On the drive up I took it easy didn't take the engine above 3000rpm once but still really punchy when needed.
On the way back today more of the same. I am really falling in love with this motor. So comfortable so smooth so refined. Overall journey managed 45.3mpg. My only gripe was that the stop start isn't as smooth as you would like kind of slow on starting up and the colour is going to be a 'mare keeping it clean but o well it looks the bees knees.
It's all round enjoyable piece of kit.
