Mk2 8v engine - Mk3 Driver engine?
« on: 19 August 2005, 20:19 »
posted this in mk3 forum but probably better suited here:

Might be being naive here, but are there any similarities between the mk3 1.8 8v driver (ABS engine) and a mk2?  Would a cam swap fit/be beneficial for example?

Failing that I'm going to bite the bullet and add a supercharger from a mini! It's an air con pump mr. insurance man!

Just in the middle of a spot of overtime that'll net me £600 and am intrigued to see what can be done with this crappy engine! Hope they're plentiful and cheap if I blow it up!

The Mk3 Engine Is Fuel Injected and the Mk2 Engine is carburettor

better off buying a gti mate. the mk3 is a heavy car and i dont think the 8v would be a big improvement. there are a few mk3 gti's on eGay going for 2-300 quid with running engines
:)
