Interesting, thanks!  Why did mine come with a Blue lead then?  Surely they'd just give you the latest one ie. the Red lead - or is that being too simplistic?!

I have only just noticed this thread, I didn’t realise there was another iPod MDI wire available, is anyone aware of any plans by VAG to produce an iphone 5 wire with the lightning connector, if so I might just hold out for that.

Last time I checked with VW (granted this was 3-4 months ago) they said they could give me no ETA on an iPhone 5 lead - but were working on one with Apple.  So that's why I just went down the lightning adapter route.

Yes - and true to form I got f7ck all reply. I'll give them to 11am tomorrow then ill email the manager. And then if I don't hear back in 24 hours ill email the group manager. And so on and so forth!

Just realised through this thread that I was given a blue and red lead. Tried the red lead today to watch iphone music videos and it worked brilliantly. Very cool feature. The only downside was when I changed over and closed the compartment i couldn't get the lid back open again as the cable had jammed behind it. Took me bloody ages to prize it open

just to check, I'm just getting the standard head unit. if i get the red cable with it can i watch videos on the screen from my iphone? or is this just for pro nav? if i can on the standard unit, that's just made the car even better
