Looks like I'm now on a boat!

Mine has been at Emdem since the 21/10/13 and still waiting to get on the boat apparently according to VW customer service.

The nice lady I spoke to said it should ship early next week and be at the dealers and ready by 11-12 November...... I'm keeping everything crossed!!

Looks like we may be on the same ship after all GTI_JEFF, mine went into transit yesterday, I said yours was gonna wait at Emden for mine to be built so they could travel to JCB together.

Are you guys getting this information from the tracker or via your dealer?

The website tracker still says 4 weeks for me.

edit.. may have misinterpreted your posts - I thought you guys had moved on past the 4 weeks stage.

Are you expecting your car to be Tyne-bound when you live in Bournemouth? Unless you’re picking up from a North-East or Scottish dealership I’d expect yours to be going to Sheerness, for a localish south coast dealership. Peter Coopers Southampton area group?
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Just called VW CS and mine arrived at emden this morning :D i would try and figure out which ship its going on but despite reading all the posts on shipping i still ain't got a clue how to figure out which ship is going where. since my dealer is a 2 minute drive from the port of tyne once over here is should all move along quickly :D good to see others seem to be moving along at a good pace :D

If it only reached Emden this morning then it’ll not be on the aforementioned “City of Paris”. The other 2 Tyne ships that leave Emden with VWs are “City of Rotterdam” and “City of Rome”. All 3 drop VWs at Tyne, then pick up Nissans and drop them up in Sweden or Norway, then come back to Tyne, pick up more Nissans, Take them to Amsterdam/Ijmuiden and then back to Emden to pick up more VWs.

2 minutes from Tyne Dock? Benfield Silverlink? My local dealership, but they always offer a sh!te part ex and a sh!te deal on the new one, so I never buy from them. They usually do my servicing though.

Correct on the dealership, ordered from silverlink. Not the greatest deal but I was very busy at the time of ordering it and didn't want to wait. when i did have time to shop around  a few months later it would have added months on to the wait to cancel and order elsewhere and i am incredibly impatient haha. mistake on my part really.

gonna have to look out for the city of rotterdam and rome now

I have moved past the 4 week stage, as far as I can work out there are a number of "sub stages" within stage 5. Once the car is built it shows stage 5 and states 4 weeks, once at Emdem it states 3 weeks (and stays on stage 5)  finally for stage 5 it states 10 days which means it has left on the boat.

The next stage is obviously 6 which is when it's arrived and cleared customs.

At least it's safe.... Everyone at work were winding me up saying that with the high winds on Sunday/Monday it was floating in the channel somewhere

Yep. Scotland bound. It's a lease car through work.
