The IHI Turbo is out of it's compressor efficiency in the upper RPM, it's a small turbo and the same was true of the MK5 KO3.

It is normal for the boost pressure to tail off towards the upper rpm range.

Do you have logs showing a disparity?

you checked the DV is not split, given the IHI out performs the old K03 motor hands down especially when mapped

you sure its not the HPFP that can handle the request from the ECU rather than the turbo running out of boost?

HPFP is not an issue on the TSI motor plenty of headroom

More likely the DV than any turbo issues.

I've never heard of any tuner describe the IHI as 'inferior' either...considering they out perform the K03 on all levels.
