Quick question on discover Nav pro.

Hi all, was browsing some of the menus earlier and found a section on Fuel, and the ability to select from a list of petrol station brands that you want it to search on. There's quite a few from all over Europe, but the ones I was interested in were the big 4 UK ones, Shell, Esso, Texaco and BP.

Trouble is BP isn't there, so does anyone know if these can be added or is the supplied set all we get ?

Google UK petrol station POI - I think you should be able to install the files they use on other nav units.

does your pocketgpsworld subscription let you download other POI's? I'm sure it does

Shell is the one that counts - always had better results with Shell (power/economy) and V-power should minimise DPF regens.

Is it only the pro nav that can have custom POIs?

Yes, I can always add them via POI's, but the Nav Pro (not sure about the other Nav), has a feature whereby when the cars running low on fuel, it will ask if you want it to find the nearest fuel station to where you are, and then searches on the Brands you have selected.

As I said, all seem to be there, except BP. So even if I add as a POI, the Nav won't use this as part of its search criteria, as these are inbuilt.

ah yes norbreck I remember what your saying now. maybe bp didn't want to be on or the database vw use is out of date. if stations are taken over by another firm it takes ages for them to be updated.

+1 V Power for me all the way. I would drive 10 miles past a BP garage to find a Shell one

Yes, but if the nearest Shell garage was 25 miles away, and you only had 10 miles remaining, that might not be an option
