Any regrets
« on: 17 September 2013, 15:38 »
Does anybody who's taken delivery of their car have any regrets about not specifying (or indeed specifying) particular options/colour/number of doors?

With me, the more I read about keyless the more I kick myself for not specifying it.

I also wish I'd specced ACC. By all accounts the confort setting make a real difference. There have been times when I've been on crappy roads and not in the mood for a 'sporty' ride that I wish I'd specced it.

Otherwise very happy with everything else - CSG/3 door (looks fantastic) and standard nav

Money no object, I'd possibly have spec'd the Nav Pro and Perf Pack.

My only regret is that a couple of the options I wanted (heated windscreen & half alcantera seats), either were not able to be specified in this country, or VW UK bundled it into another package that included items I didn't want or need (i.e. advanced phone package).

I can honestly say i don't have many major regrets. Towards the confirmed bw i was back and forwards with the Dynaudio but i ended up just leaving it. Without knowing how it sounds i'll never know what i missed out on and i would like to keep it that way

I love the look of th 19" wheels but im perfectly happy with the Austins. I would only have added the 19"s if the standard alloys had looked the same as the mk5 and mk6 which i didn't like at all.

My previous cars have all been bog standard with no extras as i wasn't in a position to afford any luxuries but this time round i wanted to make sure that I had no regrets so i pushed the boat out. Sat nav pro, keyless and winter pack are all luxuries i could have done without but i really wanted them.

PP and ACC were absolute certainties and were first on my tick list (although as i have mentioned elsewhere the ACC i could probably take it or leave it now)

Not getting the dynaudio option, my dealer thought that having the option would replace the spare wheel with the sub, but I now know the sub is just fitted into the centre of the wheel, kicking myself when I found that out

If money were no option I would have definitely got the PP, winter pack, panoramic sunroof and ACC, but then I probably would have held out for the Golf R instead

I would've had the heated windscreen for on its own money. All the other options were either cheap but considered a novelty (to me) or didn't represent good value for money vs their overall handiness.

Standard spec was more than enough toys for me.
