Called into my dealers this morning to pick up a USB cable. As I was walking back to my car the lady beside me was getting out of her car and along comes a gust of wind, you can guess the rest. I am now the proud owner of a lovely crease and missing paint on my drivers door
The first MK7 casualty documented. Well at least you were there to see it rather than some arsehole do it to you and bugger off because the financial implications of a claim make many people hit and run. New door or will it push out? Spent a good few mins with new car paranoia whilst selecting a parking space at the metrocentre, looking for an end space so I was only exposed on one side, next to a car significantly more expensive than mine, but of a type more likely to be privately owned so the owner cares enough not to hit my door.
When I used to work at Fords (as a contractor), it was our site’s turn to get a new flatbed van. We had to go up to head office in Essex to pick it up. We were following a 7.5ton flatbed with a load of stainless pipe 6” o/d. We went to overtake it it and their load slid off the side when the side-gate opened. The side of the van got smacked by the pipes and one caught the back wheel , causing a blowout and we smacked into the side of the other flatbed. 37 miles in and our shiny new van was wrecked. I wasn’t driving (phew!)
I’ve also been unlucky enough to have had my 2 week old MK5 Golf belted by a bus.
