Need a bit of help with s2000 filter
« on: 14 September 2013, 16:27 »
Ive had a browse through the other post that are related to this, but  i cant get my head around most of it

I have a 1.8t on a 51 plate  (AUM) , and im wanting to fit the s2000 filter but  i cant figure out how to actually do it, and how it marries up. such as how to fit it so the sensor stays as it is, a step by step instruction guide would be good as i have very little knowledge of this stuff.

Also a list of parts required would be good.

i already have a forge 007p fitted.

il post pics below if anyone could help me

cheers guys

Unscrew air box and remove.
Remove the ignition amp on back and secure that somewhere else.
Either buy another smaller filter for the secondary air intake ( the smaller pipe from air box)
Buy a silicone reducer ( can't remember sizes but to go from the diameter of the filter to the diameter of the maf)
Fit the smaller filter for the SAI
Fit the silecone reducer to the maf
Fit the s2k filter to the silecone reducer

Stand back and admire your work.

As above really, to take the airbox out you have to unscrew the top half and remove that first. There are then 2 or 3 screws holding the bottom half down which need to be unscrewed, there are also 2 screws that join the MAF to the airbox.

I used an 80mm - 70mm silicone reducer but it was a very tight fit and needed trimming, a slightly bigger one would be better. The 70mm end goes over the MAF and the 80mm end over the filter like this:

I've ditched my SAI system so didn't have to worry about the pipe for that.
