Another one flying through it's MOT without any advisories.
The car is 9 years old at the end of the month, having just passed 18k miles... I think I will hang on to it a little longer.

And drive it more?

Fitted a new passenger side headlight. That's both I've had to replace now, for a crack in the same place.

Having invested in a new trolley jack, I spent the morning cleaning and applying the annual coat of Tetroseal anti corrosion gloop to the underside, suspension and subframe of the Golf.... Living the dream! :)

Got two jacks and fitted the audi support points a while ago. Makes life doing these 'little' jobs much easier.
Mk6 GTI Carbon Grey, 2010 Bluetooth and voice fitted, a few VCDS mods still a comfortable family car. Red Scirocco 2011 twin charger stage 1 - enjoyable drive now gone.  White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids) replaced with an Indium Grey 2019 7.5 GTI PP.

Ive just bought a 2018 gte mk7.5 and i have a few questions. Not sure if this is the correct thread but please point me kn the correct direction

1.there is a little condensation in the lights. It looks like to get into the bulb area, you need to remove some screws on the back cover. I want to sey out the moisture somehow, what is the best way to do this?

2. When i press unlock on the key, it only opens the drivers door but i want it to unlock everything. I cant see a way to do this via the settings in the car?

3.Which OBD do i need to get in order to unlock those special features that the car can do?

Press the unlock button twice (quickly) to open all doors
Now = 2011 MK6 GTI - Reflex Silver
Past = 2006 MK5 GTI - Tornado Red and Solid Black

Welcome
Point 1 - had from new, wouldn’t worry.
Point 2 - On infotainment screen - Car / Settings (bottom right) / Opening and Closing / All Doors.
Point 3 - Sorry, can’t help.

Caveat, mines a GTI, similar MY so assuming similar functions.

OBDeleven is great, the subscription model kinda sucks though. VCDS is dealer lever and more costly but you can get it cheaper if you look...

Carista is supposedly good, but I have no experience in using it.
CarScanner app is £5, and can be used with a decent OBD bluetooth dongle. I've used it to clear codes and view live data, but not used it for coding.
Hope that helps..
