The centre caps are 56mm - got mine (used) from eBay - originally from a Polo(?), in as new condition - see below.
Also ordered some 56mm stickers from Ali Express to go over the plain black plastic caps that came with the wheels just in case the original order didn’t fit but they’ve not arrived yet.

The original Parker’s are awaiting to be cleaned and then I’ll sell them on.

Thanks Adam👍🏻 are they the gunmetal prets? I’m torn between gunmetal or silver , Iv not seen the silver colour on anyone’s car? Iv got the iron blue colour car and don’t know if the silver will be too bright?

They are gunmetal and like you, I deliberated for an eternity over gunmetal vs. silver in case gunmetal was to dark. I’m so glad I went with the gunmetal, looks great (imo and the tyre fitters) and does not look to dark against the indium grey. I think the silver would be to bright, just my opinion.

That's good to know for the Polo caps.... Can you get the part number please?
Also the caps from Aliexpress are aluminium and really don't over the domed CM centre caps very well... I've had success with the "gel" badges from printpeelstick.co.uk But they are about £25 for a set of 4 badges. Good quality though.

Copy of the Polo cap info off eBay.
Stickers arrived today, look like they won’t fit but for what they cost they can stay in the cupboard with all the other Ali Express tat I’ve bought and never used.

Looking on cm wheels it looks like the silver aren’t as popular as the gun metal ones, my minds made up gonna go with the gun metal 👍🏻 Iv took advantage of revos 40% off so it was either the wheels or the remap and 40% off was just too good to miss, gonna pick the wheels up in the new year, have you kept your old wheels or sold them ? Iv got Brescias and I do like them don’t really wanna see them go but can’t see me putting them back on? .

I’ve got Parker’s and will sell them, just need cleaning first.
Some folk say keep the original wheels as gives the car more value when you sell. I’ve got no intention of selling so they’ll just gather dust and take up space.

Yeh I’m in the same boat Iv had two of them refurbished but cannot be doing with the issues that diamond cut brings with the white worm corrosion, they look nice when there in good condition but it doesn’t seem to last, even cm wheels are doing a knock off version which look identical for the fraction of the price.

I’ve always kept my original alloys. When I part exchanged my mk6 GTD some years ago against a new VW, the VW dealer I bought the new car from wouldn’t take it in part exchange against the new car without the OEM factory alloys, even though the alloys on the car were (at the time) the quite highly sought after VW Rotary alloys from VW’s accessories range. I had no problems selling the Rotary alloys though. I’ve sold two other sets of alloys from previously owned cars too and both sets sold very quickly for the full advertised price, although they were in unmarked condition.

So keeping the original alloys is something to consider for anyone contemplating changing theirs.

Also, don’t forget to tell your insurance company if you change your alloys as it’s considered to be a modification. Some insurance companies won’t charge an additional insurance premium, whereas others might make a nominal charge.

I personally wouldn’t buy low cost ‘knock off’ diamond cut alloys. Low cost might mean lower quality finish, and if they’re diamond cut there’s a very good chance they’ll also succumb to the almost inevitable white worm corrosion - probably sooner than (higher quality?) OEM diamond cut alloys will.

If I was considering a set of alloys from CM Wheels, they’d definitely be with a painted / powder coated finish - much more durable than non diamond cut and should be able to withstand what the UK’s winter weather and road conditions throw at them.

First thing I did before fitting the wheels was inform insurer (no charge).
DC wheels look great when new but are pigs to maintain, I’ll avoid in the future in the unlikely event of buying a new car👍

I must have been lucky. My mk6 2010 has had one dc refurbed recently in 15 years of ownership - slight curb rash and a clumsy tyre fitter the cause not the dreaded worm. They do take time to maintain and regularly sort small chips etc.
Mk6 GTI Carbon Grey, 2010 Bluetooth and voice fitted, a few VCDS mods still a comfortable family car. Red Scirocco 2011 twin charger stage 1 - enjoyable drive now gone.  White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids) replaced with an Indium Grey 2019 7.5 GTI PP.
