Been a while since I last did an update. Came to the conclusion that I'm going to keep my GTI for another few years (Likely keep it for good for the mileage it will have by then).

So in that mindset, it's had a major service, new brake pads and discs all round. Then realised the ride isn't as good as it once was so I'm currently replacing the standard suspension with KW Street Comforts, hopefully get them installed in the next 2-3 weeks (£230 to have them installed, set up and a hunter alignment, not worth doing it myself at that price!)

Once that's done, I've set aside a bit of time to polish it and ceramic coat it again as I've been running just wax for 6 months and miss the ceramic, and I'll do a few other smaller bits at the same time painting the new brake hubs, replace some badges etc.

Massive job today... I've been waiting to get this lot fitted for a while.

Alloy subframe, new polybushed control arms, CSS front ARB, new ball joints and ARB links. Golf R brakes all round, new discs and pads. Koni STRT shock to go with my Eibach springs.
The original OE shocks were fecked, so pleased to get the Konis on.
Just need an alignment and we should be good.

11 hours pretty much all done.

Awesome work my Matt AKA the VAG Doctor for doing most of the work.

At the risk of being a bore, took a wee Autumn drive today. Promenading the wheels!

In answer to the question “what have you done today?”……I cleaned the wheels. Didn’t realise how much black finish is on Queenstowns but all those Mk8.5 19” owners are currently finding that out.
Black is great but in the sunshine the brown brake dust sits there as a silent rebuke. 🤭

The difference in clutch feel is a massive improvement
