But……. is he a forum member?
Clearly a rat with good taste whatever!

I wish he'd just set up home in my neighbours van since that's where he's coming from

I started off with the notion of just giving mine a quick wash today....anyway a few hours later I've taken the 18 inch Pretorias off and put my 19 inch BBS CI-R's on, and gave it a single stage polish and 3 coats of wax...

Also ordered new remus exhaust tips in chrome.

But like Toeman I'm also on the look out for a change of car, currently looking at M340d's, SQ5's and S4's and M4 Competitions'

@willni do you think you’ll shift your car on for one of the ones mentioned? I know you had been looking a set of wing backs…take it you got no joy? They have also been on my list since the start of the year as well and have a few options in mind. Just waiting on reupholstery costs coming through then make the decision.

No luck on the wingback front tbh, but I am actively looking at cars but hard to see anything of the required specification coming up (High specs only). As I'm looking at a 130 mile return commute for the foreseeable a big barge is looking more and more likely, still not opposed to a petrol car for the long commutes as I am a simpleton that likes a nice bit of exhaust noise

Also I think I've been bumping into you in the mornings at the cross roads between Comber and Carryduff
Good luck with whatever car you choose to go for. There must be another TCR you’re bumping into in the mornings as I’m not out that direction during my commute! Rarely leave Lisburn for work!

I've noticed a good few around Lisburn, strangely regularly see about 6 a day now still doesn't help the want for one though, I went to view one around Christmas time but no sunroof was a deal breaker for me

Modified my gear knob to add some weight to it... It's feels better going through the gears on my drive, but I'll know better when I go for a drive. Managed to add about 50grams.

I caught Mr Rat sleeping on top of my battery today. Little sod. Now having to park the car on street for a few days so that he might make alternative arrangements. Contrary to the internet, it seems he doesn't mind the smell of vinegar.

If a break doesn't resolve it then I might have to get a pest controller in which I don't want to but having him chew through the wiring rooms has to be avoided.

I’d go for the Pest Control route ASAP, mate of mine had a mouse chew the loom up on his Porsche - cost £3k to get fixed. One got in my house just as Lockdown kicked off, Pest Controller got rid of the fecka after a couple of visits.

I agree however having just called one it seems that because it is outside it becomes more difficult. Likely to need many more than two visits. He was very good though, said they aren't put off at all be repellants and the only way to deal with them is to exclude or exterminate. So it will have to be bait boxes, under the car and in the engine bay. Will see if a few datys parked away breaks the rat's habit. Also the neighbours are going to tidy up under their bushes. Fingers crossed. This has really got me on edge.

Totally sympathise, you don’t realise what a nightmare they are until you have one. I’m a great believer in not killing animals, but I’d happily make an exception for Mr Rat.

I've booked mine into my local indie to look into a potential ABS/wheel speed sensor issue.

My dash lit up like a Christmas tree when I selected cruise control about a month ago. It self cleared but it happened again yesterday coming back from the Cotswolds.

Fingers crossed it's a cheap fix.

Not the Golf but my OH's Lupo. Sold it. We bought it brand new in 2003, it's covered only 57000 miles and been a very reliable and faithful friend. I was quite sad to see it go, OH didn't seem to care that much the heartless old.....

Tomorrow we pick up her new steed, a Fiat 500. One of the very last ICE 500s. Hopefully it'll be as good to us as the old Lupo, but I doubt it.
