Finally got around too fitting my short shifter:

Nice easy mod with a noticeable difference

I was pleased with mine too. Decent price as well compared with some aftermarket ones.

Where is the best place to buy a short shifter from please guys, and is it hard to swap out?

Easy to change as long as you are careful but you do need to be prepared to reset the alignment of the cables. That is pretty easy too provided you have something to lock the shifter in place. I found an old school chuck key from my Bosch drill perfect. But I didn't need to. Getting the part off can be a challenge as it is on pretty tight. From memory, with a tea break and some swearing, about an hour should do it. I bought mine from an Audi main dealer but you might get lucky on ebay, they have been fitted to a variety of Audis for years. Just check the current new price as it is unlikely to be worth going secondhand.

LLL parts I bought from, was about £60 delivered. Very easy. 4mm Allen does the job to lock the gear stick.  Just rock the existing shifter back and forth while pulling upwards and it pops off. Took me about 30 mins including the alignment

Not really done anything to my GTI but I did want a nice stylised picture of it, so I asked Copilot to draw me a red GTI, and this is what it came up with:-

I really like it, but can't get it to do a 3door version like mine.

Took mine through the 50k miles barrier today. Hoping to get it all nice and clean soon and sort out some stone chips.

Took out my second All-in plan on the TCR today. I'm considering changing the car but chances are it'll be a while yet so thought it best to get some cover given the 20% off.

Thinking about perhaps a TT/TTS, I like the looks but perhaps a bit samey. Anyone got any experience with them and able to comment?

What MPG are people seeing? I feel like I'm doing well to get into the 30s currently. Granted on relatively short trips, 15 - 20mins but even on slightly longer runs I never see 40+

46mpg on a decent run. You might need a regen. Follow SRGTD’s advice - get it to normal temperature, drive at about 60mph, foot off accelerator, let it coast for about 10 seconds, repeat x10. Worked for me👍
