Looking for a Mk6 Gti
« on: 10 September 2013, 17:56 »
Hi guys, there seems to be a lack of 5 door Gti's - Ed35's around Aberdeenshire, I cant find a decent one to fit the bill...even the dealers say they cant find any.....

Are you guys finding the same problem?
Am willing to pay around the £22,000 for a decent 62 plate

Any info will be great

Cheers

What distance from your area are you looking at?

You may have to travel further afield to get the spec you want or search for an older car.

Are you looking at dealer/trade only?

You haven't told the dealers how much you are willing to spend have you? All your negotiating power gores straight out of the window if you've shown your cards.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Why don't you sell your car privately? You'll get more money for it than with a trade in.

Yes this has been my experience as well,I have been looking for a good 5 door since May.(Hence the user name)
I couldn't find one in the spec/colours I wanted-In the end I had to get a manual (wanted dsg) with cloth (wanted leather) but just couldn't find a nice one so had to compromise in the end.
I looked at a few abused doggy ones as well!

Anyway got a nice one finally last week, well pleased apart from the fuel situation-it is going to be a bit of a shock to the system coming from a 320d!

I am sure you have looked already but .There are a few on the vw 2nd hand car section although possibly out of your budget but you could try knocking them down on price . Or there is a 10 plate white golf R on the golf R forum classified if you really want to go to the extreme ....
