hey guys ive got a mk2 cl 1.6 and wanting to make it have a bit more go, whats a good cam for it and what other mods are worth doing in partner ship with a cam.

thanks.
I hear the 1.8 gti cam in the 1.6 engine makes it rev like there is no tomorrow. if you put on a gti head/cam and manifold/downpipe with an 1800 exhaust that should hike it up about 10/15 bhp.

that sounds good to me as it is a bit slugish.

hey guys. just one more question on this. is the fuel economy affected by cam upgrade and if so by how much roughly? as its an everyday car I don't want to be lumbered with a gas guzzler for the sake of a few more horses. cheers.

The cam just effects the valve overlap but if it's tuned correctly it shouldn't change a huge amount. Wouldn't think digifant is smart enough to adjust fuel and timing with a different cam.
