Because most people didn't get leather but do want the bum warmers?

I still think its very very expansive even so... but then so is the leather, and the sat nav, and the sun roof, and the DCC....  If I was ordering again from scratch I would go for Keyless and Pro Nav and thats it.

I think most would argue that the Pro Nav is a seriously expensive option (considering it is more than twice the price of the standard unit for a little extra functionality and a bigger screen). I resisted all optional equipment - the markup on those things are huge, and perceived value is low when you compare to other things you can buy with that money (such as a very high end gaming laptop).

Bum warmers not as important on a cloth seat - doesn't feel anywhere near as cold as cold leather (says the man who'll go out drinking in Tynemouth on a Cold December's night in a short sleeved shirt!).
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

 I did go for the bimmer.  On which I have leather and the pro nav.

What I mean is if I now reordered the GTI so as to have both cars I would do so with minimum options.  Actually I'm not even sure I'd spec the pro nav much as I like it.  Keyless yes but maybe thats it.

EDIT:
Nah, expensive as it is you need it to finish off the interior and for all the cool functions.  If its one of only two options it doesn't bump the price of the car up too much.

Bum warmers are for us soft southerners not people from Newcastle!

why have so many forum users specced the winter pack then if its
such a waste of money , did they not realise , easy done cos vw marketing are very conniving in their description , ie telling you you get something on a pack which is already included on the standard car , naughty naughty !

Some might have specced it to get heated seats with cloth.

With most VAG options that have equipment that overlaps with standard spec on certain trim levels or with other equipment, they usually reduce the price for that affected trim level or in conjunction with another optional pack. Doesn't seem the case for the winter pack though.

I think the winter pack is cheaper on the GTID/GTD by about whole £20.

bum warmer on leather yes , but on fabric ! hello , reckon you need to stop driving in your birthday suit , what is the point of having a toasted arse , when the extremities of your body ie nose hands and feet are freezing cold , just makes the situation worse

Have you tried heated seats on a freezing winter morning, I'm guessing not? Each to their own.

Options are a b!tch, I'd have them all and if the truth be known so would every one of us.

If I was ordering again I think I would probably ditch the ACC and maybe replace it with the Dynaudio but I would definitely keep the rest

I had a Skoda Superb rental a few months ago and it had heated seats. Have to say I loved them and it wasn't even that cold out! Something very comforting about sitting into a warm toasty seat.... Unless its a toilet seat of course
