Hi guys! Is this a standard option on the gti or do you have to pay for the winter pack?

It is my understanding that any vehicle fitted with xenon headlights must have headlight washers by law.

So winter pack if you specked leather is a waste of money in that case!

The other items in the winter pack, apart from heated seats and headlamp washers, are heated washer jets and low windscreen washer fluid level warning light in the instrument display. I think you automatically get the low washer fluid warning light if you've got xenons, so if you spec leather in a GTI or GTD which come with xenons as standard, the winter pack only gives you the heated washer jets(!).

So, not the best value option to spec on a GTI or GTD.

why have so many forum users specced the winter pack then if its
such a waste of money , did they not realise , easy done cos vw marketing are very conniving in their description , ie telling you you get something on a pack which is already included on the standard car , naughty naughty !

Some might have specced it to get heated seats with cloth.

With most VAG options that have equipment that overlaps with standard spec on certain trim levels or with other equipment, they usually reduce the price for that affected trim level or in conjunction with another optional pack. Doesn't seem the case for the winter pack though.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Because most people didn't get leather but do want the bum warmers?

I still think its very very expansive even so... but then so is the leather, and the sat nav, and the sun roof, and the DCC....  If I was ordering again from scratch I would go for Keyless and Pro Nav and thats it.
