Suggestions please

I have a mk4 golf gti 1.8t

I was driving along the bypass about 70 and felt a pull. Once I came off I turned the engine off for 5 mins and it wouldn't start again, got a push but it just made a clunk noise. The battery has power im sure of that.

Any suggestions much appreciated

get some1 that knows what they are doing to look at it as from what you have told us it could be anything

Thinking it could be to do with needing a water pump im changing it tomorrow prolly shouldn't be driving it with this prob :/

Going off what you've written, i'd say starter motor

Can you be more specific that a 'strong pull'?

What makes you think waterpump? Is it overheating?
