I've only got VCDS lite which is the basic, free version. It finds most fault codes but not all, I'm in Treeton and could scan it for you one night this week if you want? I can't guarantee that it will pick anything up though...

Cheers pal got more serious issues na. On m1 this mornin and lost power oil lite flashed on pulled up and av got bad knocking from engine. Sounds like valves are hitting or summat. Think it could be terminal. Green flag brought it home on back of wagon. Dare not drive it na. Dunno what to do with it. A cud roooer!

Sounds like a blocked oil pickup pipe to me, easy enough job to sort assuming no further damage has been done. Don't drive it until you've had a look at the pickup, there is a guide in the maintenance section somewhere.

Am thinking worst case though mate because of noise coming from engine it sounds terrible but suppose it will if no oil getting round. Is it common then and whats chance no serious damage is done. Only had motor 5 weeks.lol.

It's common for the pickups to become blocked, what is the mileage on the car? It really depends how oil starved the engine became, as you've already started a thread complaining of lack of power I'd guess it's been blocked for a while.

Not Sheffield but Matt at OCD in Barnsley is the man to speak to, he's a forum sponsor as well:
