Kids now have a kitten to play with!
« on: 31 August 2013, 18:33 »
Just picked up a kitten all black and very cute green eyes!
Settle down quickly eating, sleeping, weeing and 8 weeks old
Scratching post.
New food and water bowls .
Sleeping basket.
Kitten milk.
Kitten food .
Some kitty litter £6.00 per 5kg I thought it was going to be easy to choose LOL!
Injections 9.5 weeks time with micro chips
Kids named her Ribena:smiley:

Anyone with advice on food? owner fed whiskers and milk.
We want to ween off milk for water and use Royal Canin kitten food instead? Suggestions please?

We use a mixture of wet food like whiskers or felix etc but you should also give them dry food as well as they get terrible tarter build up if they only have wet food, which cause no end of problems! no suggestions really but you'll know if they don't like it!

I can recommend the cat litter from sainsburys though, it does a great job of hiding the odour and is also really light as opposed to the heavy clay stuff, and don't buy clumping litter as imo it's a bit of a false economy cos it won't last as long as none clumping.

Cute cat btw.
Currently pootling around in our family wagen, a Tiguan SEL 😂

Yeah the clumping is not clumping TBF
We had salmon for dinner and she tried to steal some  unusual for a cat to like fish, three cats before her disliked fish!
Apparently not uncommon for cats to dislike fish.
Shes gonna be a killer, her mother kills small rabbits for lunch apparently
I'll give the Sainssburys ago Jimble!

She's beautiful

If you moisten the wet food with a little tepid water, it livens the taste and hydrates cat.  We've just switched from Hills science Plan dry food to Royal Canin.  None of my cats (5 in total) like fish but one loves boiled eggs

Top tips:

1.  Neutering (if not done already)

2. Pet insurance.  If you haven't already, get her insured.  Look for a policy that offers lifelong cover as many only do a year or have a maximum limit per condition.  Pet Plan do a good choice of cover and price ok.

Haaa yeah we knew what was installed for us Guy, but hey the toys/scratching post if used all the time, and plus keeping her knackard enough not to destroy us or the house
Two days and looks like a heater matrix has been done  :lipsrsealed:
Funny thing when we picked up the kitten there drive had about 10 small wild rabbits running off into the woods so I could quite believe the mother hunts the little critters for lunch.
