Right, mine finally went to "10 days", so hopefully that means its finally on a boat which will hopefully dock at Grimsby Monday/ Tuesday.

What do you think the possibility is that I can collect next weekend (as my dealer is only 80 miles down the M62 from the docks), or is that a little unrealistic ?

Possible if your dealer can PDI in a day (which seems to depend very much on the dealer), but unlikely - VW may not move it from the docks for up to a week after arrival, and your dealer isn't close enough to want to go and get it for themselves. Fingers crossed.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

The schelde Highway has just left Emden for Grimsby - anyone expecting their car to be on that?

Doubt it MB, I’m pretty sure the Schelde Highway doesn’t go to Tyne after Grimsby, and I don’t think they’d send my car to Grimsby to be shuttled up to Tyne on a carrier lorry, it is still supposed to be coming in to Tyne. City of Rotterdam leaves Emden today for Tyne – hoping to be on that, or perhaps “City of Paris” due from Emden on 6th Sept (but not even on the expected arrivals list for Emden yet – must be due in to Emden soon as these vehicle carriers seem to be at Dockside 36-48 hours loading up).

My dealer must be confident that my car is due very soon. He was on the phone today (first time in almost a month) to tie up some of the financial loose ends (just cleared the finance on the Scirocco, so that’s a start). As far as his systems could see, my GTD was not yet registered as being on a ship. If it got on the City of Rotterdam, then I will be expecting a shipping status change on the tracker overnight.

Yeah, I don't know how it works; whether they just put them on a boat and then get them driven to their destination or whether they hold them back to then put all regional cars on the same boat.  Makes sense from their point of view I suppose to hold all regional cars for the same boat.  Which is probably why some people see movements quickly while others seem to wait an age with their cars sitting at Emden for a week or so.

I can't seem to find any boats going to Sheerness so that's me f7cked

Hang in there MB, my car has just gone 10 days, so it must have made it onto the "city of Rotterdam" which is supposed to dock at Tyne 6pm tonight. Can't see any reason why I couldn't have mine at the weekend if my dealer makes the same provisions for mine as he did for my dad's (better not be Sunday - can't do Sunday, I have a christening to go to).

Maybe "priority shipping" isn't a myth after all (or maybe the boats have plenty of spots available for the UK now the Sept 1st rush is over).

TBH, if my experience is anything to do by, once the car is built, the delivery process shouldn't take too long. Here's mine.

Car Built                        21/8/13

Went to "In transit"         22/8/13

Went to "10 days"           1/9/13

Arrived UK                      2/9/13

Arrived at Dealer              4/9/13

So from going "into transit" until delivered to the dealer was  13 days (including 4 weekend days). So not too bad overall.

Mine will be:-

Car built (complete)                             26/08/13
Went "in Transit" (4 weeks)                   27/08/13
Went 3 weeks (ready for a ship)             29/08/13
Went 1 week (on Ship)                          03/09/13
Will arive in UK (actual, not tracker)         04/09/13
At Dealer? Depends how quickly dealer wants it to happen - dealer pick-up is definitely a strong possibility, considering locality to dock.

Mine's changed to 'its on its next stage to the UK & takes 3 weeks to get to your retailer' - happy days, it's either on a boat or about to go on one!

3 weeks means it has officially been received at Emden and is patiently waiting for its lift on a boat, as soon as it hits 10 days it is on a boat – hopefully less than a week’s wait for that to happen.
