What rims??
« on: 16 August 2005, 22:01 »
I've decided that my 15" Ronals look lost in the arches of my G60, so am after a new set.
I'm thinking 16" BBS RS Splitties or maybe some Porsche alloys with adaptors.
Does anyone know what width rims will fit naturally under the G60 arches. Could I get away with a set of 9 x 16" Porsche rims with adaptors?

P.S. The car is sitting on standard suspension at the mo.

Cheers

8 or 9x16 kenskins

would be hard fitting 9'' wide porsche rims under there as the adaptor would push it put further.

:)

16x9's are a b1tch anyways.. trying to get an adapter in there too is gonna be a nightmare. Suggestion.. if you going for a wide rim.. also be prepared to pay 250-350 to have you arches rolled. Looking back on mine, i should have had then done professionally and i still will. plus if you go somewhere at least u have a come back hey..

What other wheels u fancy?

Don't want to start mucking about with the arches. Really after some nice BBS splitties. I'm thinking I should go for some 15" RM's with wider outer rims, and then lower it to fill out the arches a bit more.
I'm starting to be put off by the whole adaptor thing.

I recon they would. Just to confirm about the porsche rims, you would need arch work! Ive got 8" wide on the rear and 6" on the front. My rear arches are totaly cut away and my front need rolling a little. For me its not so much the top of the arch that catches but the side and the top of the inner arch as im pretty low on coil overs.

those bbs will catch like hell. i know a guy with a blue g60 exactly the same as yours, who has those rims, in those dimensions and he has a nice groove cut into his tyres!!! you'd get away with 8's just about but 9's is pushing it.

why does everyone go for rm's? is it a price thing?
