Am I being fussy?

Currently scrolling through my wedding photos done by a professional photographer and I'm having to straighten them up as the horizons are wonky.

Everyone tells me I'm being fussy but surely it's standard practice to deliver straight images?

There are also a few other issues but this is the main one.

I don't blame you. I hate wonky photos.

I don't have digital copies of our wedding photos, so I scanned them all in and re-edited them.

The thing that slightly annoys me is that at the time we got married 8yrs ago, I didn't know any good photographers, so just had to plump for the guy who was in budget. Now I know several people who could have done a much better job.

Post a before and after straightening.

Even if you hadn't taken a shot straight, I would expect it to be straightened afterwards, unless they were unfortunate enough to have left no cropping room.

unless it's artistic then IMO it should be straight.

End of the day not everyone is that &nal about straight horizons, however when you're paying someone you would expect them to be straight; given how easy it is to straighten the images it's a basic task that he/she should have done when they processed the images, even if they aren't doing heavy PP on the images e.g. using presets you would expect them to at least straighten them at this stage.

Some people have imbalance when taking pictures its like soon as you close one eye to see through a view finder you go wonky!
Some times I look at the LCD if I'm aware I'm more off balance than usual as I use both eyes straight forwards.
It affects a lot of people, but like you said you can right them up yourself

On another note my pro photographer went missing after I came back from Honey moon he got paid and everything but has disappeared some where in the world I've sent mafia after him Triads the lot he is not on this earth anymore I've been told.
My friends who took pictures which are off compacts currently are our wedding pictures Gutted

I'm not sure what your comments are adding to this conversation to be honest.

I didn't pay someone who had a camera I paid a professional photographer. Someone who does 2-3 weddings a week in season. To me it feels like he did half a job...

But not all 'professionals' are equal. Some, like my wedding photographer, charge a small amount and deliver ok photos. Spme charge thousands and deliver breathtaking photos.
Some dodgy photographers supply less than perfect photos so they can charge you more for a 'touch-up' service.
And some just don't have the inclination to do a proper job because they still get enough £4-500 jobs to pay the bills.

Can I ask how much you paid and how many photos you got from them?

For example:
My photographer charged us £500 (this was 8yrs ago), covered just the ceremony and group shots and we just got 50 prints (roughly edited), no digital files, no album.
My sister paid £1200 and got hundreds of photos, sheets of proofs to select the shots she wanted printing and the digital files.
The photographer I shot with in June charges £1500+ for a wedding, all day coverage, all the shots edited and you get the digital files. A second shooter and album costs extra.

Sometimes you get what you pay for.
