mk2 agg conversion, please help!!!
« on: 26 August 2013, 15:01 »
hi folks, I have a 1990 1.6 driver that ive put a 97 agg in from a doner car. my problem is when I went to start it, she fired straight away but cut out after a couple of seconds. after some searching online the best explanation I could find was to do with the immobiliser. so I took the ecu to have it removed, but when it came back it still did exactly the same. can anyone tell me if I still need the immo box and transponder with key, even though immobiliser has been removed from the ecu? and if so where exactly do all the wires go?

just tried my ecu in a mates car with same engine code and it fires then cuts out, if it was de-immobilised would it have started even without my key, transponder, ect?

Yes, being de-immmobilised will remove the need for them.

For it to start and cut out is the immob cutting in, send it back to whoever de-immmobilised it.

Grab yourself a mk3 key and immo box, very easy to wire up. You wont need the key/box for your specific ecu as its an easy job to re-program the components to match. Any problems pm me.
