Does anybody know why the DAB radio logos show for all stations in Germany but not the UK.
Are they pre loaded onto the unit or is it to do with the way the UK and Germany broadcast.

It was pretty cool to see it working in Germany with the logos and  slide shows.

Also is there any other way of assigning logos to channels other than downloading from the web, putting on an SD and assigning individually? This will need constant updating and will be a real pain.

I'm not sure mate, but why would they need constant updating?  How many unique radio stations do you listen to, and how often do they change their logos?! I'll just be updating logos for the ones that ever get listened to in our car, which can be counted on one hand with room to spare!

German Volkswagen website has a for you can download then sick onto an SD card. you then upload them to the unit and that's it.

Yes, I've done that and it is a pain as you have to assign to every station individually.
Any new stations that come along will also need to be done this way.
The logos are very basic compared with the German ones and there is no slide show.


Main question is though why do all DAB logos display in Germany and not the UK?

do they use dab +in Germany? do all the stations automatically broadcast the station logo in Germany? it's a bit disappointing that an up to date media unit from vw can't automatically show a logo from a broadcasting station when the rns510 dab I had did!

After a little investigation...

Some UK DAB stations broadcast a logo - most don't.

If you see a 'loading' ( rotating  circular arrows) then that particular station is broadcasting a logo otherwise you just see the standard DAB logo.

So it's the SD card route for most.

can you not upload the dab logos to the hard drive on the unit?

There is an option to auto save the logos for those broadcasting one, still seems to reload everytime though.

Probably depends which unit you have also.
